With the vitamin B12 test, we determine your level using a simple blood sample.
In the UK, up to 6% of the population under age 60 and up to 20% over age 60 do not reach the recommended intake of vitamin B12. The body needs the vitamin for various processes, for example for nerve function, cell division and blood formation.
The Holo-TC value detects in the early stages whether a deficiency is present or not and is therefore the most reliable and sensitive test to detect a vitamin B12 deficiency
Vitamin B12 is a water-soluble vitamin also known as cobalamin. It belongs to the essential vitamins. Essential means that the body cannot produce it itself. We have to absorb it through food. The body needs the vitamin for various processes, for example for nerve function, cell division and blood formation. Therefore, deficiency symptoms affect many areas of the body. The body can only utilize the active vitamin B12, which is bound to special transport molecules. It is exactly this holotranscobalamin that our vitamin B12 test measures.
